With every dollar donated to the Rise movement, 80 individuals have received civil rights protections as a result of the laws Rise passes.
HEAR FROM THE SURVIVORS
Like countless survivors who decided to report, I encountered a broken system that did not take rape victims seriously. And like most survivors, I never found closure or institutional justice for my rape. Rise was the first experience where I felt like I was able to regain control over my own narrative. With Rise, there is hope. With Amanda, there is hope. Rise has restored my faith in our legislative process and our democracy. Rise did not speak for me. They handed me the mic.
Before I found Rise through a random internet search, I was almost completely out of hope for my case and the future of our nation in regards to sexual assault. Through my involvement with Rise, I am not just advocating for change in the name of all current survivors in the state of Tennessee; Rise has given me the chance to advocate for social change for all future generations to come. Because hope truly is contagious, I hope we, the people, can all rise to help form a more perfect union.
For both changing laws and changing lives, Rise has been recognized by media outlets, legendary civil rights families and institutions around the world.
